4+
Exam Preparation
At 4+, it's not just about what a child knows, it's how they show up. I work on foundational skills like number recognition, pencil control, and early writing, alongside the things schools quietly look for: listening carefully, following instructions, and speaking with confidence. Every session is designed for this age group specifically: playful, encouraging, and paced so little learners genuinely enjoy their time with me.
Phonics and Reading support
Phonics and reading sessions are available in 30-minute or 1-hour slots. I work with your child using the phonics programme already familiar to them which include AnimaPhonics and Read, Write, Inc. So lessons build on what they know rather than starting from scratch. Reading underpins every other subject: strengthen it, and you'll see the difference ripple across the rest of the curriculum.
11+
Exam Preparation
The 11+ demands a wide range of skills, built up over time. I get to know each target school's requirements and tailor a programme around them, so your child goes into the exam confident, prepared, and proud of their offer.
Covers Maths, English, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, problem-solving, interview technique, exam technique, and cross-curricular learning.
7+ and 8+
Exam Preparation
7+ and 8+ entry exams test far more than what's taught in a typical classroom. Before any lesson planning starts, I assess where your child currently stands, their strengths, gaps, and pace of learning. From there, every session is built specifically around them, stretching well beyond the National Curriculum so nothing on exam day catches them off guard.
Curriculum Support
Selective prep schools often move a year or more ahead of the National Curriculum and gaps left unnoticed early on tend to resurface later. A child who never quite mastered number bonds, for instance, will struggle once calculations get harder. I start by finding exactly where those gaps are, close them, then build from a solid foundation rather than papering over the cracks.
